Dear FlyLady,

Thank you for your encouraging emails! The one today,  “The Thief of Time,” reminded me about how you’ve helped me to FLY over the last 5 years.

When I first had my little boy (5 years ago), my house was a mess and I hated the way that I looked. I spoke to myself mentally with harsh words, and I couldn’t really love anyone else right because I didn’t love myself. I saw a recommendation for your website on a message board and I signed up for the daily emails.

You hit me right between the eyes when you pointed out that my house was in CHAOS because I was a perfectionist and I figured, “I’m never gonna be able to keep up with this, so why even try?” When you said,  “You’re not behind, just jump in right where you are,” your gentle encouragement helped me to get started. And oh, the revolution when it finally got through to me to “Be kind to yourself!” I replaced those thoughts of how useless I was with thoughts of how capable I am. I even quit procrastinating about exercise, and I found out that I enjoy running obstacle course races!

Now I’m healthy (physically and mentally), in the best shape of my life, I feel good about myself, and I feel like I’m fully equipped for my calling as wife and mom! Those dirty dishes never saw me coming! Thank you for what you do. I know that I’m not the only one who learned that essential mantra from you, “Be kind to yourself,” and took it to heart.
