Dear FlyBady,
I Have been a FlyBaby for years.
I never have any issues shining my sink, making my bed, getting dressed, throwing out the mail, planning meals, or drinking water.
I declutter consistently. I bless my home. I keep my car clean and my bills are paid on time.
But every May, I always feel a bit “called out” by you because I haven’t been the best at “loving movement”. I just don’t want to do it.
But this year, on May 17, I decided I had enough of my own whining and that I deserved to treat my body with love. I started doing a low impact workout, every morning, for 30 minutes. I know it has only been four days, but already the twinge in my shoulder is gone, I am sleeping better and my mind is clearer.
It takes a little bit of “habit stacking” for me. I know that if I don’t do it in the morning, I won’t do it at all. So, I set out 2 sets of clothes the night before… along with my yoga mat and a set of very light free weights. I shower in the morning after my workout instead of at night after the day. Because I shower in the morning, I have been blow drying my hair because I can’t stand it dripping all over my clothes. While I am waiting for my hair to air dry just enough so I’m not blow drying for too long, I throw on some make up, and get my coffee. I can see that it is making me look, feel and be more put together.
Thank you, dear Flylady, for calling me out. I know I didn’t start on May 1st, but I am not late. I am not waiting for a Monday, or a new month, or the next morning. I started right where I was. And that was the most challenging part.
