Hey FlyLady!

Just wanted to drop you an email to say that I enjoy listening to your facebook lives (or re-runs of those) in the background while I’m doing my email.  I found you at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic and subscribed to your emails.  I can’t point to anything specific, but your “start where you are” and “you don’t need to catch up” phrases have given me a new attitude about the domestic state of affairs at the “Carver Ranch”.  Since meeting you virtually, I cleaned out from under the sink, above the washer/dryer, cleaned out the utensils drawers, put away laundry as it came out of the dryer, washed my curtains that hang in the laundry room, CLEANED MY LIVING ROOM WINDOWS (after you did your windows following a heavy rain), purged the leggings drawer, and planted a bunch of plants/bulbs that I ordered.  Things are still flipped over here, but we are flying 🙂  I have not gotten into the habit yet of cleaning the sink every day (I just hate doing dishes).

This weekend I am going to help my mom clean up her house.  She is really struggling since the passing of my stepdad and neither of us are tidy people; prone to anxiety and depression.  Send positive energy our way, we will need it.  I seem to have this compulsion that I can’t do anything else until I get my house in order (and we have a long way to go), but I have to go give some of the small amount of energy I have to help MOM as she just can’t muster any gumption up anymore to do things herself.  I’ve been forwarding your emails to her, but she has not commented other than to say I want someone to come “do all this for me”.
