Dear Flylady,
I too have found that keeping the sink empty and dishwasher filling up and washing them every night and emptying every morning sooooooooo helpful.
I just retired and was never good at ‘keeping’ up with housework. Never had a routine.
When I was getting ready to retire, I worried I’d get lazy and started to ask people what their routine was. No help because no one had a ‘routine’.
I’d seen your website many years ago but wasn’t ready to do it. But…I did love your setting a timer to do tasks.
My daughter (mother of 12 soon to be 13, but with the three oldest now married/ moved out) has started some of the tasks. In particular, it helps her to know “it didn’t get that way overnight…” so she’s doing some of the tasks.
When I visit there, I usually stay for a few weeks, and try to incorporate it with the grandkids. I find your method not only effective and workable but very emotionally encouraging.
The dishwasher thing is wonderful but so is the daily bathroom (swish and swipe) and hotspot lookout, and weekly plans, and a load a day keeps the mountain away.
Thanks so much. As I’ve said to friends, you speak my language FlyLady. God bless you.
Nancy
