We do not subscribe to a newspaper so I don’t get the quick-to-expire name brand coupon batch that comes with typical Sunday papers. But I do get a batch of customized coupons from our local grocery store, linked to our frequent-shopper card. Thank goodness they are for things we actually use, and most of them do not expire for 3 months. However, it often seems I miss their “use by” date by a day or two, even though the coupons are always in my purse. Since we are a D.I.N.K. family (double income no kids), and I buy shelf stable-foods by the case, we do not go grocery shopping every week. (Did you know bread and milk-in-bags will freeze and last a week or two just fine?) So our grocery shopping routine is more like once a month, when there is a significant-enough list to make the trip worth it and DH needs prescriptions filled at the in-store pharmacy. Today, reading about how other FlyBabies use their calendars, it hit me: DUH! Write the new store-coupon batch’s expiration date on the calendar, so I will remember to use them in time. Thanks FlyLady! Fluttering with coupons, ***************************** The FlyLady calendar is just the tool to help you FLY!
