Dear FlyLady,

For my 50th birthday party that my DH gave me, I cleaned the WHOLE house in four days…all 1700 sq foot. My body hated me but I was so impressed with how clean it was, so I started fluttering again and for once it’s been going quite well!

I’m not being a perfectionist (doing payroll for 16 years makes you want to be perfect for those employee checks) and I’m taking one day at a time. Adjusting to the needs of our home and making a routine for me.

Also, after working from the age of 16, I finally love my work I’m doing and I get to do it from home most of the time. So I’m happy, the DH sees it and he sees my shiney sink every morning.

Sooooo…a miracle happened this morning. He left me a note saying he will clean up the pan he made his food in so don’t worry about he’ll take care of it when he gets home!!!!

He normally doesn’t even take care of his trash or dishes and I always have to clean up after him. I hate that part about our marriage…I’ve used to tell him I’m not your mama lol.

But after reading your emails again and seeing that the shiney sink is my choice I’ve not let it get me down any more (stopped saying anything to him ten years ago!) and now I’ve just learned to love and appreciate our home period.

And miraculously the shiney sink rubbed off on him and I’m so happy! I thanked him for being so considerate when he got home too.

You were right and I’m so happy you are our Flylady! Thank you for you inspiration and persistence of keeping us all from being perfect for our own good!!
