Dear FlyLady,

I HATE doing laundry. But I love having clean clothes. And I do believe that “clean underwear says ‘I love you’” to the rest of the family.

Today, I saw a sign out shopping that made me laugh out loud – literally – so I bought it to make my laundry fun. It says “Laundry Today or Naked Tomorrow”.

I tried doing one load a day, the FlyLady way, and it was not working for me. I couldn’t do it “perfectly”. So I decided to do one load a day, in my imperfect way, to keep the laundry monster under control. (And we use cloth diapers, which are additional laundry, so that says something!)

I’m sharing “my imperfect way” in case any other Flybabies are having trouble making their laundry work for them.

“My imperfect way” – – I take a load of dirty laundry down stairs and dump the dirty laundry on the floor. – – I empty the dryer – sorting into baskets for me, hubby, and ds. (or into the now empty basket if it’s towels or diapers) – – I take the clean laundry from the washer (from yesterday) and hang it to dry or put it in the dryer. I clean the lint trap, and then I start the dryer. – – I put the dirty laundry in the washer to wash.

We wash all our clothes on cold wash/cold rinse, with the same detergent. No sorting colors or delicates. If I have delicates to wash, they go in a mesh bag and in the washer! – – I take a full basket of clean laundry upstairs and put it away.

Since I sort out by person, it may be a different person gets clean laundry every day.
