We’ve been quite busy the last couple of weeks, so it will nice to slow down and enjoy one of the simplest and most rewarding pamper missions there is… keeping a gratitude list for the week.
This week, keep a few 3×5 index cards with you or a notepad and record the little things that make you smile. Small things can really brighten our day if we take the time to slow down and appreciate their simple goodness. For example, yesterday I was in a business and one of the workers received a call from a pregnant friend excitedly sharing the news that she was heading to the hospital. The mood of the whole room changed as this sweet conversation took place. Just a short sweet pause in my day to ponder life, remember the joy of the births of my children, and to send good thoughts for this new mother and child.
Try to list at least 3 things you are thankful for each day this week. More is acceptable, but not necessary. As you look back over your list once the week is over, you’ll smile all over again! If you keep your lists on 3×5 cards, it’s so easy to store them in a cardfile to bring more smiles on a gloomy day later.
