Welcome to a brand new week. It’s the end of January and soon we will be into February! Is it just me or is time FLYing by? (LOL) Spring will be here before we know it! What better time to start getting ourselves into warm weather shape?
The harsh winter weather tends to dry out our skin and leave us with dull, dry, and sometimes even scaly skin. Well, today is the day to get rid of that dullness and bring back our natural glowing beauty with an at home pamper DIY.
Step 1: Take a nice hot shower or long bubble bath! I know… this is torture! Let your skin soften up and absorb some of the heat from the warm water then…
Step 2: Grab an exfoliating cloth, brush, sponge, poof, etc and give your body an all over scrubbing. Not to hard though, we aren’t trying to remove ALL our layers of skin. Just the dead one! Remember to concentrate on those elbows, heels, and knees where dead skin is the toughest to remove.
Step 3: If you happen to have a dry buffing brush, now is the time to use it. Any brush will do though. A buffing brush, a nail brush, or even an old toothbrush. What you want to do is start at your ankles and work your way upward. You want to brush towards your heart to get your lymphatic system flowing. Brush your arms, legs, chest, etc. This will help remove any leftover dead skin cells and really get you feeling freshly scrubbed.
Step 4: Slather on your favorite moisturizing lotion head to toe! You can even put on a self tanning lotion here to really give you that “glow”! One super simple trick I’ve learned to help even out your tan when using self tanner is to mix it with a little bit of your own lotion and then rub it on. Be careful around your cuticles though as they tend to turn a bit orange when DHA (the ingredient in self tanners) gets on them.
Step 5: Show off your ready for Spring skin!
